AARKC 2011-12 ROUND 6 PREVIEW

AARKC Round 6 preview Round 6 of the 2011/12 Al Ain Raceway Kart Club series is being held at its home circuit Al Ain Raceway on Friday 3rd February. There’s still plenty to play for across all the classes.

In DD2 Maurits Knopjes will be looking to squeeze his stronghold even tighter at the top of the points standings with a fourth win of the year. He’s no doubt going to have his work cut out for him as Oliver George is going to be fighting fit after his near miss last time out. Al Ain Raceways “F1 Circuit” configuration is caked with overtaking opportunities and Knopjes is going to find it tough to keep a hard-charging George at bay. Hasher Al Maktoum is going to hoping for a change of luck as so far this year he has been plagued by mechanical problems.

Sanad Al Rawahi of the Senior MAX 125 class is going to be hoping to continue his white-wash of the series with a 6th consecutive victory. Piers Pakenham-Walsh lit up the field last time out with his Senior debut and is going to be hoping for one better than his second place at Dubai.

Andrew Fuller – the points leader in MAX Master – needs to get back to winning ways if he is to try to reclaim his title. He was fortunate last time when his two main championship contenders – Luc Bauwmans and Walid Al Qassemi – crashed out.

Junior MAX 125 championship leader Abdullah Al Rawahi is again going to find himself mixed up in by far the closest field of the series. The inseparable Junior class are expected to display more of the same next time out, with a rejuvenated Cyrus Engineer looking to make big gains on Al Rawahi.
